We aim to create a health promoting school where everyone sets a good example.
We have a total non-smoking policy and would ask parents to observe this by not smoking in the school grounds, therefore setting a good example to our pupils.

Dropping-off and Picking Up Children

All parents are requested not to use the school drive to drop their child off or pick them up at the end of the day. We also strongly request that all parents bringing pupils to school by car park legally, sensibly and safely in roads close to school.

Medicines in School

  • School can administer medicine when parents have provided written details and consent.
  • If a child needs regular medication (eg for asthma, allergies) a Health Plan will be drawn up.
  • All medicines will be stored securely in the office and administered by an adult.
  • The Health Plan will be reviewed termly.
  • It is the responsibility of the parent to provide medicines in date.
  • Pupils must never carry medicine with them or leave them in pockets, bags or drawers.

Allergies

It is important to let school know if your child has any allergies to specific foods. A questionnaire will be sent out at the start of each school year. If a diagnosis takes place mid-year it is the responsibility of parents to inform school and arrange a Health Interview. Information regarding allergies is shared with the school catering team.
